Women's Volleyball Suffers Tough Loss on the Road at (RV) Loyola-New Orleans, 3-0

NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The Life University women's volleyball team never found its rhythm against (RV) Loyola-New Orleans on the road Friday night in Southern States Athletic Conference, falling in straight sets for the team's first conference loss of the season.

Life U (5-5, 2-1 SSAC) had a hard time on the attack, holding a .042 attack percentage ove the game, while (RV) Loyola (10-6, 3-1 SSAC) did not too much better at a .167 attack percentage. Besides earning a couple more kills, 36-30, the Wolf Pack's main advantage came on the serve where they held a 9-0 edge over the Running Eagles.

The first two sets did not go very well for the Running Eagles, going score-for-score with Loyola through the early portion of the sets before falling behind as things progressed. Runs by the Wolf Pack late in the sets saw Life U take a 25-17 loss in the first, and drop into a 2-0 deficit after a 25-14 score in the second set.

The Running Eagles seemed to be on track to bounce back in the third set, holding early leads of as much as 7-2 after a Macey Sipmann kill and maintaining that lead over the majority of the set. With it looking like a fourth set was on its way after a Madison Evans kill pushed the advantage to 22-14, Loyola outscored the Running Eagles 12-2 over the rest of the game to end the set 26-24 and game 3-0.

Life U stays on the road for their next SSAC contest, facing (RV) William Carey tomorrow at 1 PM.
