Running Eagles Drop 3-2 Heartbreaker at #1 William Carey

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Life U women's soccer team fell in a 3-2 heartbreaker as #1 William Carey University scored two goals in the first half Thursday evening in Mississippi.
The Crusaders struck first in the 16' minute and then quickly turned around again scoring in the 19'. The Running Eagles were not able to put a goal on the board during the first half and went into the break trailing 0-2.
However, Life U rallied back, netting their first goal of the game by Sacha Millward in the 69', which was also assisted by Lilja Bjorg Olafsdottir, bringing it to a closer match trailing 2-1.
Unfortunately, the 2-1 trail did not last long for Life U. William Carey answered seven minutes later, scoring bringing the gap to 3-1.
The Running Eagles were able to push to a goal by Anakah Madril in the 88', but were short on time on adding any more goals.
The Running Eagles and Crusaders both gave up a hard battle and ended the night on an even shot count 19-19.
Up next, the Running Eagles will remain on the road, playing University of Mobile (Ala.) Saturday afternoon, starting at 2:30 p.m.
