MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Life University women's volleyball team cruised to another SSAC win Friday night, downing the Crusaders from William Carey 3-0 at Roswell Street Baptist Church.
Led in the attack by a handful of Running Eagles as Chloe Teter, Lela Parker, Lena Pucnik, and Fayola Louis, all recorded five or more than kills.
In the first set, the Running Eagles jumped ahead 10-4 before really creating a separation with aces, kills, and multiple WCU attacking errors. In the end, the Running Eagles opened the match with a 25-12 set one win.
The second set was the closest, and it took a late rally fueled by two Chloe Teter kills and poor attacking precision from WCU to allow the Running Eagles to turn a 20-14 disadvantage to a level contest all knotted at 20 apiece. After coming back from six down, the Running Eagles ultimately won the set 26-24 with kills from Payola Louis and Lela Parker emphatically finishing it off.
In the third set, the Running Eagles started nearly perfect, storming ahead to a 9-1 lead. Quickly after that, the Crusaders responded with a push of their own, bringing it as close as 9-7 before the Running Eagles again created separation. The run was fueled by back-to-back Reign Jarin aces. After that, the Crusaders had little fight left in them succumbing to the Running Eagles 25-16.
Up Next, the Running Eagles, remain at Roswell Street Baptist Church tomorrow, hosting the Wolfpack from Loyola New Orleans for a 2 PM Eastern first serve.
