MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University women's volleyball team fell in three tough set to RV Loyola New Orleans Saturday afternoon, sturggling to find their footing in the tough matchup at Roswell Street Baptist Church.
Offensively struggling, the Running Eagles were led in the attack by Lena Pucnik, the team was plagued by errors with 19 attacking errors on just 26 kills. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack thrived with 27 kills and just 10 errors. Defensively, the Running Eagles also had trouble figuring out the Wolfpack offense as the visitor's 6-2 offense saw both setters reach double digits in the matchup.
In the first set, the Running Eagles kept it close as the two were going back and forth down the stretch. The Wolfpack eventually created separation, turning a 20-18 lead into a 25-18 set one win.
In the next set, the Running Eagles created a lead initially 5-4 but struggled to maintain momentum as the Wolfpack was again able to go on a run, leading 10-5. After the timeout Life again found some momentum keeping the set within a couple of points but they struggled to string together a clean enough run to bring the set to a manageable deficit.
In what proved to be the final set, the Running Eagles were off to a quick start leading 3-0 in the fourth set. The advantage was short-lived though, as the Wolfpack would go on to string 11 consecutive points together before ultimately running away with the 25-13 set three win.
