WEST POINT, Ga. – Anakah Madril scored three goals in a row in the second half to lead the Life U women's soccer team to an 8-0 win over Point University on Saturday in West Point. The Running Eagles close their regular season schedule with a 10-3-2 record.
Rebecca Noren opened the game with a goal in the ninth minute with an assist from Lottie Turner and Lilja Bjorg Olafsdottir. Just under 14 minutes later, Turner and Olafsdottir found defender Tio Krizogono giving an opportunity in front of the goal to make it a 2-0 lead.
In the 20th minute of play, defender Marey Helgadottir put the Running Eagles ahead by three before Gabby Cruzado added to the mix off an assist from Dana Billington giving the team a 4-0 lead going into the half.
The Running Eagles took ten shots in the opening 45 and added eight corner kicks.
Sara Diaz added a goal in the middle of the second half to give Life U a 5-0 lead in the 71st minute.
Anakah Madril went on a scoring frenzy, earning a hat trick with goals in the 77th minute, 78th minute and the 81st minute while also snatching assists from Karen Einarsdottir, Sara Diaz, and Lavinia Horning.
Life U's defense was able to hold the Skyhawks to only one shot the entire game.
