MARIETTA, Ga. - In a game that was only a two point difference with less than four minutes to play, the Life U men's basketball team came away with a win at home against Southeastern University 83-74 to move to a 5-0 record.
Devin Story made a three pointer with just under two minutes to go to put the Running Eagles out in front and was 2-of-6 from the three point line to close out the contest.
The Life U defense held tough, denying the Fire on their final two possessions. Southeastern also had the opportunity to tie the game with 3:20 remaining but fouled Will Freeman who was able to make both free throws giving a four point differential.
At the half, Life U led by twelve 41-29 despite having trailed by 13-7 in the opening minutes of the game. There was a cold stretch for both teams in the first half as neither team scored over a 1:57 minute stretch.
In the second half, it was a tight contest with Southeastern coming back to lead 48-47, but Life U held on to win with a nine point victory.
Up next, Life U faces Point University Wednesday, Nov. 15th at 7:30 p.m.
