MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Life U women's soccer team fell, 2-0, against William Carey on Friday night in the SSAC Championship.
The Running Eagles saw their offense stifled by a tough William Carey defense as they were only able to register four shots on goal.
The Crusaders held a 9-1 shot advantage at halftime but were unable to break through in the first 45 minutes.
However, it did not take them long to strike in the second half, as the Crusaders put away a shot in the 66th minute to give the Crusaders the only goal they needed.
As Life U continued to struggle to generate offense, William Carey put the game out of reach in the 71st minute as they fired a strike to the back of the net.
Despite the loss, the Running Eagles hope to earn a bid for the NAIA National Tournament.

- William Carey's midway second half goal proved to be all the Crusaders needed in the shutout victory.
