MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's basketball team fell to Fisk University Sunday afternoon, struggling from the field as the Bulldogs served the Running Eagles a 77-70 loss, the first of the season for Life U.
In the first half, the Running Eagles fell behind early to begin the contest in a hole. Trailing by as many as ten in the first half, a late run in the first half saw the game tied a the break 36-36.
In the second half of play, the Running Eagles led for most of the half, jumping ahead by as many as seven but unable to pull away and create seperation. The Bulldogs then grew a lead to a ten point lead, 74-64 with just over a minute to play.
Individually, Elias Ramirez led the Running Eagles with 17 points while Joshua Ward scored 16 points to go along with eight assists. Off the bench, Devin Story scored 15, but it wasn't enough as Life U fell 77-70 in the end.
Up next, the Running Eagles will resume SSAC play, hosting Middle Georgia State University this upcoming Thursday at 7 pm in the Eagles' Nest.
