LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Life U women's basketball team dominated from start-to-finish in a 90-60 blowout win over College of Coastal Georgia on Friday afternoon in Lake Wales, Fla.
The Running Eagles led wire-to-wire, going on a 16-0 run in the first quarter and never looking back from there.
One Running Eagle had a career night, as Andrea Martin Ruiz tallied a career high with 17 points. Going 8-of-13, and even grabbing eight steals and helping with five assists in the process.
Maeisha Teasley came off the bench scoring ten points and also grabbed three steals for the afternoon.
Freshman Laphina Campbell made her season debut and delivered nine points off the bench while only playing eleven minutes.
Maikya Simmons added eleven points while Sara Viti and Brionna Sims added 10 points each. Viti went 2-4 behind the three point line.
Life U's defense forced 28 Coastal Georgia turnovers and held the Mariners to just 13 points in the fourth quarter.
With the win, the Running Eagles come home with a 2-0 sweep at the SSAC/SUN Challenge.
Up next, Life U will travel to Kennesaw State for an exhibition game Friday, Nov. 10th at 7 p.m.
