MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University women's volleyball team fell in three sets to Point, celebrating Senior Day before struggling to find their footing in the matchup.
Offensively limited, the Running Eagles were led in the attack by Fayola Louis, but the team was plagued by errors with 21 attacking errors on just 34 kills. Meanwhile, the Skyhawks barely did much better with just 31 kills but just 19 errors. Defensively, the Running Eagles also had trouble with four receiving errors.
In the first set, the Running Eagles kept it close as the two were going back and forth down the stretch. The Skyhawks eventually created separation, turning a 22-16 lead into a 25-19 set one win.
In the next set, the Running Eagles created a lead initially 9-8 but struggled to maintain momentum as the Skyhawks were again able to go on a run, leading 14-10. After the timeout Life again found some momentum keeping the set within a couple of points but they struggled to string together a clean enough run to bring the set to a manageable deficit.
In what proved to be the final set, the Running Eagles failed to ever hold an advantage as the Skyhawks ultimately closed out the contest with a 25-23 set three win.
