MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's basketball team closed out their calendar year with a 94-83 routing of Thomas University in the Eagles' Nest.
Prior to the contest, senior Nathan Presnell was presented a special ball to commemorate his 1000 career point he scored against Freed Hardeman on December 16th.

Led in scoring by Devin Story, the Running Eagles had four individuals earn double-digits. The Running Eagles were efficient throughout the first half, getting ahead of Thomas by shooting 45% in the first half and an impressive 41% from beyond the arc. Headed to the break, the Running Eagles led 39-31.
The second half was an offensive showcase as the Running Eagles scored 55 while TU scored 52. Despite never allowing the score to get closer than seven, and growing the lead to an impressive 14 point margin, the game remained very competitive. With under five minutes to play, the two teams were separated by just a single point after a TU 3-ptr. cut into the Life U lead 75-74.
After the lead-cutting 3-ptr., Dara Olonade knocked down a pair of free throws and Joshua Ward found accuracy from deep to grow the lead back to six. The Running Eagles then maintained and grew the lead to 11 by the end of the contest to improve to 12-3. Additional top supporters alongside Story included; Dara Olonade with 14, Joshua Ward with 18, Jalen Broyles with 14, and Shomick Shajahan with seven points and seven assists.
