CLEVELAND, Ga. -- Monday night, the Running Eagles recorded a dominant 3-0 victory over Truett McConnell moving to 2-2 in AAC play.
Life U (6-3, 2-2 AAC) earned the victory over host Truett McConnell in large part due to another all-around great performance by the attack of Life U. Incredible defense again played a factor as the team tallied ten blocks with Alexis Prado recording a new program record of 28 digs in the match.
The Running Eagles posted a .279 attack percentage with 45 total kills in the sweep while the Bears had a harder time in part due to the Life U block, only having a .020 attack percentage to go with 23 kills.
After taking the first set 25-18, the momentum the team built towards the end of the first set continued into the second as Life U again bested Truett 25-19 in the next second frame to move ahead 2-0.
The third set played out much like the opening two as the Running Eagles earned their third sweep in their last five contests.
Individually, Ryan Ollie and David Barcan recorded twelve and ten kills, respectively, while Jakaris Brown picked up an additional six in the three-setter. Nefty Vigo returned as the primary setter, recording assists on 37 of the team's 45 kills.
After an impressive program-best for Alexis Prado where the libero recorded 26 digs, the sophomore was again sensational grabbing a new program record of 28 digs on Monday night.
The Running Eagles return home for their next contest, facing conference foe Reinhardt Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 PM in the Upper Gym.
