LEBANON, TN -- The Life University men's volleyball team gained a non-conference 3-1 win over Cumberland University Wednesday afternoon. 

After dropping the opening set, the Running Eagles soared back to win three consecutive sets en route to the win. Both Diego Martinez and Nefty Vigo impressed, with Martinez earning a career and season high with 19 kills. The freshman, Vigo, was also sensational with 43 assists and 10 digs.

After losing the first set 25-20, Life University came back in the second set with composure to win the second 25-20. The third set looked much like the second, with Life University taking a lead midway through the set and then rallying three consecutive points off to take a 15 to 9 lead and never look back. Much like the second and third set, the fourth was again close, ultimately ending at the closest scoreline of 25-22.

Overall, Life University had a an attacking percentage of .339 while Cumberland university struggled at .152. The Running Eagles also picked up 14 blocks defensively and seven service aces in the dominant win. Other top individual performances include David Barcan and Diego Perez tallying 13 and 11 kills, respectively. 

Up next, the men's road trip continues as the Running Eagles face Cornerstone University on Friday at 5 PM.
