Men's Basketball Concludes Home Slate with Win over Stillman

MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's basketball team got back on track Tuesday night, earning another SSAC win by besting the Tigers from Stillman College 75-69.

Life University (17-7, 10-7 SSAC) was led by freshman Joshua Ward and junior Mohamed Elgohary, who combined for 34 points. All five Running Eagle starters recorded double-digits as stellar ball movement and unselfish play led to 19 assists in the win.

To begin the game, the Tigers jumped ahead by five but failed to create any separation as the Running Eagles tied the game before ultimately charging to a 17-9 lead by the ten-minute mark. The Running Eagles then went on a two-minute drought nearly losing the lead bu holding on, 17-16.

After that, the Running Eagles responded with a run to push the lead back up to ten, 33-23, with 2:09 left to play.

Headed to the break, Life University led 35-31.

Second half action saw highlight plays from both teams as impressive shot-making, dunks, and passes opened the game wide open with both teams turning the defensive tempo up as the game became highly contested.

With just under 17 minutes to play, Life U. brought the lead back up double digits after a Devin Story three, 43-33. After that, the Tigers would chip the lead down to two before the Running Eagles lost the lead after a Stillman three, 44-43.
