Men's Volleyball Tabs Non-Conference Sweep over Morehouse

MARIETTA, GA — The Life University men's volleyball team dominated the Tigers from Morehouse College, completing the season sweep over Morehouse in three straight sets.

Led in the attack by David Barcan, the Running Eagles dominated all three sets winning 25-13, 25-18 and 25-18. In the first set, the Running Eagles (9-10) jumped ahead to a 4-1 lead before cruising to a favorable 15-7 set one lead. The Running Eagles then committed a service error to move the contest to 21-13, before taking the final four points to win the opening set.

The second set saw the visiting Tigers again struggle to keep up as the Running Eagles led from start to finish, only allowing a tie at 4-4, before taking the second set by another sizable margin, 25-18.

The final set began with the Tigers claiming the first point, but after earning the quick lead Life University roared back to claim a favorable 5-1 advantage. After that, the Running Eagles continued to maintain a lead. Morehouse kept it close, going on a mini 3-0 run to provide a small scare (17-14), but it was all Life U towards the end, easily besting the Tigers 25-18 in the final frame.

Overall, David Barcan lead the team with six kills while ten other Running Eagles recorded kills in the stellar team showing. Jose LlanezaGracjan Mackowiak, and Charles Ewer also tabbed four kills each as everyone got involved in the attack. Underclassmen Christian Enriquez, Bryce Zentkovich, Owen Springfield, Brent Robinson, and William Reeves all appeared in the final set, gaining valuable reps in the team win.

The Running Eagles will host the Life U Pod over the weekend,  hosting Carolina University and Cumberland University for a pair of matches this Saturday, March 35th in the Upper Gym.
