Women's Lacrosse Blanks Warner in Senior Day Win

MARIETTA, Ga. --- The Life University women's lacrosse team finished off their regular season slate with a dominant 23-0 victory over Warner University Saturday afternoon.

Life U (9-4, 4-2 SUN) bounced back from a pair of tough losses last week, cruising to their victory over the struggling Royals from Warner (0-14, 0-6 SUN). Leading the team with four goals, Roxie Beasley was perfect in the attack, converting all four of her shots in the contest in to goals. Other standout performances from Maria Arvizu and Lacy Legaspi also led the way offensively for the Running Eagles as the two attackers combined to account for 12 of Life U's 23 goals. Arvizu was dominant on the ball, tallying an additional three assists, picking up seven ground balls, and causing four turnovers to go alongside her hat trick of goals. Not to be outdone, Legaspi's repertoire was equally on display, earning three assists with her three scores. The Running Eagles dominated the shot count 45-6 while also holding strong advantages in caused turnovers 28-13 and ground balls 23-14.

The Running Eagles got off to a quick start, posting nine goals in the opening frame. The period began with Legaspi scoring within the first minute of play before the attack continued with two goals in the 3rd minute and another pair in the 4th minute before Leanne Windon's unassisted goal with less than two minutes in the quarter took the scoreline to 9-0. In the second quarter, Roxie Beasley joined the stat sheet, scoring her attempt after a pass from Lexi Santiago. The Running Eagles carried a sizable 12-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Arvizu and Nicole Ortiz continued the scoring outpour for Life U before Beasley fired three straight scores to expand the lead further, 17-0.

With the game more than settled, the Running Eagles went on to score five more unanswered in the fourth quarter to make the final of 23-0. In goal, Reese Cook recorded a clean sheet with five saves. After the contest, Cook, Windon, Nina Sutton, and Annslee Warchol were all recognized with a Senior Day celebration.

With the conclusion of the regular season the Running Eagles now look ahead to the SUN Conference Tournament set to begin this Friday, April 21st in Savannah, Ga.
