Running Eagles Conclude Weekend with Sweep over Brenau
Women's Volleyball / 08.26.23
MARIETTA, Ga. -- In the Life University women's volleyball contest Saturday, the Running Eagles played efficiently on the attack to record a dominant 3-0 victory over Brenau University.
Life U (4-3) earned the victory hosting Brenau in large part due to what was the team's most efficient day on the attack thus far into the season. The Running Eagles posted 41 total kills while the Tigers had a harder time in part due to the Life U block, with a .118 attack percentage to go with 15 kills.
After taking the first set 25-23, the momentum the team built towards the end of the first set continued into the second as Life U quickly bested Brenau 25-17 in the next second frame to move ahead 2-0.
The third set played out much like the opening two as the Running Eagles earned their first clean sweep of the 2023 season.
Individually, Lela Parker and Chloe Teter both continued their solid weekend with nine and eight kills, respectively. Naomi Eckert returned as the primary setter, recording assists on 31 of the team's 40 kills.
The Running Eagles hit the road for their next contest, facing non-conference foe Campbellsville Friday, Sep. 1st at 3 PM.
