MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University women's volleyball team picked up their first conference win of the 2023 season Friday tabbing a 3-0 sweep over Middle Georgia. The Running Eagles controlled the contest throughout opening SSAC play with a win for a second consecutive season.
The Running Eagles were able to take control of the contest early after the two were tied at eight in the opening set. Life U then coasted with a 7-2 run to earn a favorable 15-2 lead. They later closed the set 25-17.
In the second set, Life U was able to gain an early advantage 9-3, forcing a timeout, but the Knights clawed back to make it closer, 12-8 with the Running Eagles still out in front.
Life then dominated as eight points fell in favor of the hosts as Kalyn Keiser delivered two aces and Chloe Teter dominated with four kills in the quick 9-0 run, 20-8. Life U eventually won the frame 25-14 before being dominant again in the third, holding the Knights to 21 points with a rotation of players.
Life U had 32 kills to Middle Georgia's 21 but had just 16 errors to the Knights' 26.
Up next, the Running Eagles stay home to host Brewton-Parker on Saturday at 1 p.m.
