Men's Soccer Falls to #3 Mobile

NEED TO KNOW:

Score: Life U 2, Mobile 4

Record: Life U, 6-3-2 (2-3 SSAC; Mobile, 11-2-1 (SSAC 6-1)

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life U men's soccer team battled hard against #3 Mobile but ultimately fell short in an intense game.

The first half of play saw back and forth action, with Mobile finding a rhythm later in the first half going into the break leading 3-0.

Coming out of the break Augusto Del Rio got the scoring started five minutes into the second half marking a goal for Life U bringing the score to 3-1.

14 minutes later in the 64' minute Life U was fouled in front of the goal to give Thomas Rodella a chance to add another goal.  Rodella's kick was too powerful for the Ram's goalie which only left Life U trailing by one.

However, the one goal margin would be short lived as Mobile found a pass in front of the goal again to bring the score to 4-2.

Life U fought hard the last 15 minutes but could not produce another goal leaving the Rams with the 4-2 win.

"It was a tough afternoon. The boys looked tired from the great performance on Friday and could not bring their energy and intensity to the same heights today," Head Coach Alex Pama stated. "Three soft defensive plays caused us to be down 3-0 at the half. Kudos to most of the team for fighting our way back into the game and getting to 2-3. We desperately tried to get the tie but again a soft defensive clearance brought the score to 2-4. Even then we still had a good chance to make it 3-4, but weren't as lucky. Mobile is a top five team and I am so proud of our second half performance. It showed some character. Wednesday is senior night and another home conference game. We must win to secure top four in the playoffs and to give ourselves a home playoff game."

Up next, Life U will host UT Southern on Lupo Family Field under the lights at 7:30 pm.
