NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Life University men's and women's swim team competed in their road meet against the Wolf Pack of Loyola University New Orleans this Saturday afternoon. 

Neither team took home a win but were able to take some first place finishes. 

The meet kicked off early for the women's team, as Kyleigh Shonk, Sophia Carneiro, Terangimarie Moanaroa, and Kendall Ashburn took second place in the 200 yard medley relay (1:53.82). The race was close at the end with the women only missing 0.26 seconds. 

Overall, the women won four out of the 14 events with first place wins from Nikita Snoeren in the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.04), Elisa Gross in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.12), Kendall Ashburn in the 200 yard butterfly (2:20.92), and Megan Cronje in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:34.21).

The men's team took home a first place finish in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay held by Bence Dort, Brody Williams, Mate Dort, and Rasmus Petersen (3:15.09). 

Overall, the men won seven out of the 14 races with two first place wins for Mate Dort in the 500 (4:46.85) and 1000 yard freestyle (9:54.98), and two first place wins for Bence Merész in the 100 yard backstroke (50.19) and the 200 yard IM (1:53.92).

Bence Dort managed to get ahead of everyone in the 200 yard backstroke (1:50.85) and took home the first place finish. Brody Williams had another first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:45.23).

Up next, the Running Eagles travel to Thomasville, GA to take on the Night Hawks.
