MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Life U men's soccer team closed out the regular season with a dominant 8-0 finish at Brewton-Parker Monday afternoon to lock in the fourth seed in conference and secure an opening round playoff matchup at Lupo Family Field.

The Running Eagles scored a balanced attack of goals between both halves as six different players found the back of the net in the win.

Thomas Rodella secured his fourth hat trick of the season and led the conference in both goals and points. Augusto Del Rio and Manuel Carrillo both delivered two goals in the first half with del Rio getting things started in just the 2nd minute of play. The second and third goals of the match came in quick succession as Carrillo scored in the 27th minute followed by Ervin Sula netting his sixth goal of season off a Finn Seijsener assist. Rodella scored his first goal of the match and the final of the half in the thirtieth minute as the Running Eagles controlled the entire pitch in the first half.

In the second half, it took some time before the Running Eagles scored again in free play, as two penalty kicks in the span of just over five minutes saw Rodella convert his league-leading 20th and 21st goal of the season.

Chima Chukwu and Ole Kuperus scored the team's final two goals of the match in the 86th and 88th minute.

Overall, twenty two different Running Eagles were credited with playing time in the regular season finale. Lukas Poelman and George Edgely split time in net, each making one save.

Head coach Alex Pama shared his thoughts on the team's performance, stating, "Great way to finish the regular season. Our guys were up to the task today and scored some outstanding goals. We finished top 4 again in our conference and now prepare for a tough home play off match vs UTS on Saturday. Compliments to BPC and their program. Their university and town went through a lot during Hurricane Helene and the damage was still visible for us visiting Mt Vernon. To play 4 games in 7 days demands respect from us for their program. We wish them well in their recovery."

Up next, Life U is scheduled to take on RV (#5 SSAC) UT Southern this Saturday on Lupo Family Field in the Opening Round of the SSAC Championship.
