Women's Rugby Rolls Past Penn St.

10.08.24

University Park, PA -- The Life University women's rugby team rolled to a convincing 97-3 win over Penn State last weekend, earning a convincing win on the road.

Head coach Ryszard Chadwick shared his thoughts on the team's performance, stating, "A great win on the road. Everyone gelled together so well, working as one team throughout the game. The way the team kept communicating and playing our shape was good to see. The player's attitude was all about lifting each other up and keeping the energy high. We played an aggressive but smart game, always kept applying the pressure in the right areas." He then spoke on the newcomers impact on the game, "It was especially exciting to see several freshmen making their college debuts. They stepped up to the challenge and showed incredible composure. Considering we hadn't played for a few weeks, I was really impressed by the fluidity and how quickly everyone came together on the field. Additionally, the 15-hour bus travel could have easily taken a toll on the team, but our systems worked incredibly well, ensuring that the team stayed sharp and ready to perform."

The Running Eagles returns home to host Eckerd College on Oct. 19th for a FloRugby contest.
