THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Life University men's and women's swim team competed in their road meet against the Night Hawks of Thomas University this Saturday afternoon.
The men's team was able to take home a win, while the women's team was not able to prevail but did take some first place finishes.Â
The meet started off good for the men's, as Bence Dort, Bence Meresz, Brody Williams, and Rasmus Petersen took first place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:32.33). The men's team took another win home as Rasmus Petersen, LaVaughn R. Veasey, Brody Williams, and Bence Dort finished first in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:29.65).
Overall, the men's team won 10 out of the 14 events with first place wins from Mate Dort in the 1650 Yard Freestyle (16:31.17) and the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:00.53), Pablo Serra Ventura in the 100 Yard Backstroke (54.59) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (4:53.97), Bence Meresz in the 50 Yard Freestyle (22.49), Brody Williams in the 100 Yard Freestyle (47.50), Rasmus Petersen in the 100 Yard Butterfly (53.28), and Bence Dort in the 400 Yard IM (4:18.18).
The women took home a first place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay held by Elisa Gross, Megan Cronje, Kyleigh Shonk, and Kendall G. Ashburn (1:49.29).Â
Overall, the women won five out of the 14 events with first place wins from Nikita Snoeren in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:03.85), Elisa Gross in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:11.02), Sophia Carneiro in the 200 Yard Breastroke (2:36.45), and Kendall G. Ashburn in the 400 Yard IM (4:34.04).
Up next, the Running Eagles travel to Columbia, Ky. to take on Lindsey Wilson and UT Southern on Nov. 9 at 12 pm.
