Life University Wrestling Secures Dominant 52-0 Shutout Against Truett-McConnell

MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University wrestling team put on a clinic in their dual against Truett-McConnell University, delivering a resounding 52-0 shutout victory. The Running Eagles earned bonus points in nine out of ten matches, showcasing depth and dominance across all weight classes.

From quick falls to technical masterpieces, Life University controlled every bout. The night was highlighted by five falls, three technical falls, and a major decision, with the team earning a forfeit win to complete the sweep.

The action started at 125 lbs, where Mikey Doerr opened the dual with an impressive technical fall (23-8, 6:50) over Tyler Ramos, using relentless offense to set the tone. At 133 lbs, Thaddeus Long used a single take down to pin Isaac Hall in just 56 seconds for the first fall of the evening.

The momentum continued at 141 lbs as Jordan Mitchell secured a quick fall at 1:36 against Levi Herrington, turning his single takedown to a near fall before ultimately securing  the pin. Cameron Crump, wrestling at 149 lbs earned the team's next TF 20-5 (6:09) over Elijah Mullins.

At 157 lbs, Fabian Padilla added a controlled 5-0 decision over Chase Bond. Jaden New, wrestling at 165 lbs, returned the team to bonus points with a dominant fall at 2:39 against Derek Counsel, again, all it took was a single takedown for the Running Eagles to work their way into a pin. 

Next,  Alexander Couto collected six team points with a Truett forfeit. At 184 lbs, Jesse Perez defended his #1 ranking over TMU's only ranked wrestler, William Parker, with a commanding 19-3 technical fall (6:11) over the #19th ranked wrestler at 184 lbs. 

At 197 lbs, Doug Dittmer followed with a strong major decision (19-5) over Spencer Fields, continuing the team's dominant streak. In the heavyweight division, Nate Glass closed the meet with authority, pinning Phillip Terrell in just 2:54 to seal the shutout victory.

Up next, the Running Eagles regroup this weekend hosting the annual Life U Open at McEachern High School this upcoming Saturday, November 23rd.
