Running Eagles Unable to Overcome Strong Mobile Offense in 79-50 Loss

MOBILE, Ala. - The Life U women's basketball team was unable to overcome a stout University of Mobile offense in a 79-50 loss on Thursday night in Mobile.
The Running Eagles held tough against a strong Rams squad, however the comeback attempt never materialized as Mobile went on a 27-17 run in the third quarter to completely break away from Life U.
The loss marks two in a row for Life U in hopes to put up one more win before the regular season comes to an end.
Maeisha Teasley led the Running Eagles, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds. She was joined in double figures by Junior Brionna Sims, who scored ten points and seven rebounds, and senior Maikya Simmons, who added ten points to go with seven rebounds.
Mobile came out hot early in the contest, as it raced out to a 28-11 lead after the opening 10 minutes.
The Running Eagles saw their defense respond in the second, holding the Rams to 16 in the second quarter. However, Life U faced a 34-20 deficit at the break.
Out of halftime, Mobile went on to take their largest run of the game going on a 27-17 run to create enough space from the Running Eagles to secure the win.Â
The rest of the way, the Running Eagles were never able to get their deficit under 20 points.
Up next, the Running Eagles will compete in their last game of the regular season taking on SSAC opponent Stillman on the road Saturday, February 17 at 1 p.m. est.

- Mobile took control with a hot-shooting third quarter and took a 24 point lead to the fourth quarter.
