WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Life U men's lacrosse team was unable to overcome the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) offense in a 13-6 Saturday afternoon loss in Williamsburg, Ky.
Josh Bell put the Running Eagles on the board early in the first quarter, but Life U was unable to hold the lead after a 3-0 run by the Patriots. In the second quarter, Mackoy Bodmer was able to put up an early goal again, but it did not allow the Running Eagles to take a lead going into the second half trailing 8-3.Â
The third quarter saw the Patriots go on a scoring frenzy putting up six goals and only allowing a goal from Brayden Hittle.Â
The Running Eagles offense was able to outscore the Patriots 2-1 in the fourth, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.Â
Goalie Colin Willis made 21 saves in the loss for Life U.
The Running Eagles will compete in their first home game of the season against University of Michigan-Dearborn (Mich.) on Saturday February 24 at 5 p.m.Â
