Women's Basketball Falls in Last Regular Season Game to Stillman 75-54

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Life U women's basketball team was unable to overcome a strong Stillman College offense in a 75-54 loss on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa.

The Running Eagles held tough against a strong Tigers squad, however the comeback attempt never materialized as Stillman went on a 23-11 run in the second quarter to completely break away from Life U.

The loss marks three in a row for Life U as their last regular season game comes to an end.

Brionna Sims led the Running Eagles, scoring 14 points and grabbing four rebounds. She was joined in double figures by senior Maeisha Teasley who scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds. Deborah Powell added four points to go with eight rebounds. 

Life U kept the first quarter close, but towards the end of the 10 minutes the Tigers went on a 5-0 run and went into the second quarter with a 21-16 lead. 

During the second quarter, Stillman went on to take their largest run of the game going on a 23-11 run to create enough space from the Running Eagles to secure the win. Life U faced a 44-27 deficit at the break. 

The Running Eagles saw their defense respond after halftime, holding the Tigers to 17 in the third quarter. 

The rest of the way, the Running Eagles were never able to get their deficit under 20 points. They kept their defense up in the fourth quarter managing to score 15 goals while only receiving 14. 

Up next, the Running Eagles wait to see what seeding they will receive for the SSAC Championship Tournament which will be held on February 28th-29th. Right now Life U holds the fifth place and finishes the regular season with their best record in program history.

- Stillman took control with a hot-shooting second quarter an the Running Eagles was never able to catch up
