ATHENS, Tenn. - The Life U women's lacrosse team ran away from Tennessee Wesleyan with an 19-2 victory on Saturday afternoon in Athens.
Four Running Eagles delivered hat tricks on Saturday, led by freshman Audrey Cook's five goals.
Junior Lexi Santiago did it all, scoring four times to go with a team-high eight draw controls and Nicole Ortiz also adding four goals and seven draw controls.Â
Life U led the entire game and kept TWU scoreless the second half, ending the third quarter with a lead of 14-2 to continue running the clock the rest of the afternoon.Â
The Running Eagles wasted no time in jumping on the Bulldogs early, scoring the first four goals of the game, with three coming from Santiago, who scored four total on the night. Life U's stifling defense in the midfield in the first quarter held TWU off the scoreboard until the second period.
Even though the Bulldogs were able to put up two points on the board four different Running Eagles were able to score in the second quarter for Life U bringing a lead of 8-2 going into the half. Â
With Annslee Warchol's second goal of the afternoon to start the third quarter, the Running Eagles were able to take off there scoring six goals to go into the fourth quarter.Â
The run continued to be unanswered by a fantastic close to the contest by Life U, ending the game on a 13-0 run from the 7-2 lead the Running Eagles held at the end of the first half.Â
Up next, the Running Eagles will continue on the road taking on Shorter University on Wednesday, February 21 at 5 p.m.Â
