MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life U men's basketball team won its fifth straight SSAC contest at home during Senior Day against Dalton State, making use of a huge second half run to close out the contest and earn a crucial win.
The Running Eagles and the Roadrunners were neck-and-neck in the first half as neither team was able to create separation both struggling to shoot above 50% from the field. Eventually, the Running Eagles finally created separation in the second half to come away with the 82-66 win.
Will Freeman and Nathan Presnell led the Running Eagles in double figures, scoring 14 and 13, respectively. Elias Ramirez, Jalen Broyles and Dara Olonade scored 11 points each while Presnell added eight rebounds.
Going into halftime there were only two points separating the Roadrunners from the Running Eagles, as Life U carried the slim 38-36 lead into the break. In the second half, Life U furthered their separation adding 44 points while limiting Dalton State to 30 points.
In the end, the Running Eagles conclude their regular season scorching hot, winning their fifth straight and celebrating their Seniors in the lopsided win.
