BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Life U men's volleyball team earned a 3-1 win in conference play over Bluefield University on the road Friday evening.
Life U took an early lead in the opening set and jumped up to a 15-13 lead before the Rams made a comeback with a 5-0 run. Bluefield took the first set 25-21.
In the second set, Life U and Bluefield evenly played with the Rams causing extra points. Two kills from Jeremy Ferreira ended the set 27-25.
With Blufield leading by 18-13 the Running Eagles were able to make the rest of the set evenly matched, but with two attack errors by the Rams, Life U was able to take the third set 25-23.
Life U took off early in the fourth set leading 21-10 leaving no doubt for the Running Eagles To take the last win with a shutdown win 25-13.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Carlos Pinto accounted for 23 assists while Nefty Vigo added 19.
--Xavier Jones put up an impressive14 kills and three service aces, while Diego Martinez added 12 kills and two aces.
--Jeremy Ferreira had another huge defensive game with five blocks and Alexis Prado tallied 11 digs.
