Men's Volleyball Tab Non-Conference Win Over Calumet

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Life U men's volleyball team traveled to Campbellsville, Ky. to take on Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) Friday afternoon. The Running Eagles brought down the Crimson Wave 3-0 after a close three sets. 

Sophomore David Barcan led the team with ten kills and three aces, while senior Jose Llaneza was also dominant with seven kills. 

Alexis Prado again led the team with ten digs and Nefty Vigo put up 18 assists. 

The Running Eagles took the first point in the first set and shortly after Life U would go on a 6-1 run.  Even with a quick 4-0 run for the Crimson Wave towards the end Life U was able to secure the first set 25-22.

The Running Eagles came out hot in the second set as they picked up the first five points and never looked back. Barcan added three huge kills and a block throughout the set making the Running Eagles lead 17-15 before Life U went on a 7-2 run to bring them to 24-18.  Calumet ends the set on an attacking error giving Life U set two, 25-22.

Calumet provided some resistance early in the third, but once again, eventually the Running Eagles took control with a 7-1 run. Another Barcan kill was what closed out the game.

Up next, the Running Eagles will stay at Campbellsville University for two match-ups against University of Rio Grande and Campbellsville University at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm.
