FLORIDA -- The Life University flag football team took a road trip to Florida last week earning a pair of victories as the Running Eagles went 1-1 against countable opponents. The Running Eagles opened the weekend with a tough loss in an exhibition against Florida Gateway on Wednesday. The team then regrouped Thursday grabbing a SUN Conference over Florida Memorial 33-27. They then dropped a contest against St. Thomas 33-6.
Head Coach Zack Desmarais shared his thoughts on the weekend, stating, "The ladies are fighting hard every game and we are seeing progress and growth. The ultimate goal is to win the game! Before we are able to do that we have to win each play. We're focused on communicating, staying behind each other, and adapting. We believe more wins are to come by focusing on things we can control." He then continued, "We bounced back Thursday with a win against Florida Memorial. Huge plays by K'Myah, Nae, and Mariah helped lead us to the victory."
Up next, the Running Eagles have a week to recover before hosting Webber and Warner next week for a pair of weekday matchups.
