DAYTON, Tenn. – Three Running Eagles scored two goals to lead the Life U women's soccer team to an 7-0 win over Bryan College on the road Saturday afternoon. The Running Eagle ended the week 2-0 to start off on a great note to the 2024 season.

Freshman Odalis Tapia opened the game with a goal in the first two minutes. Just three minutes later, Helgadottir found the ball in front of the net off of a cross from Sara Diaz to put it past the Lion's goalkeeper creating a 2-0 lead Running Eagles.

The Running Eagles were just getting started, as shortly after Junior Sacha Millward was able to put one on the board off of a pass from Helgadottir and put the Running Eagles up by three.

Midfielder Dana Billington put up a goal quickly after and Helgadottir put another one on the board to add to Life U's scoring frenzy to allow them to go into the half 5-0.  The Running Eagles took 13 shots in the opening 45 and added six corner kicks.

Tapia wanted to add more to the score as she was able to find the ball from freshman Sienna Strapp to make the score 6-0.

Billington was also able to add another goal in the 76' minute by netting the seventh goal of the afternoon.

"It's great to be 2-0 after week one. That was our goal when we started preparing on Monday," Head Coach Meg McGonigle said. "We have a strong team of players who have shown they are hungry to compete.  It's the best time of year and we are excited that fall season is here."
