MARIETTA, Ga. - After a weekend full of competition, the Life U women's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 victory at home against Oakwood University Monday.
The Running Eagles got off to a strong start taking a 17-3 lead out of the gate and cruised to a 25-9 win in the opening set. In the second set, Life U took off early again with a huge 21-8 run before the Running Eagles secured the second set 25-11.
Life U finished the game off with a 25-16 win with a kill by freshman Elisa Fries.
This marked the fifth victory of the season and fourth clean sweep.
Freshman Lauren Holcomb led Life U with 11 kills and three aces while Fries added seven. Gianna DeVarenne led with nine digs and three aces while Gabriela Rivera added 12 assists.
Up next, the Running Eagles head to Shorter to take on the Hawks at 6 p.m.
