TIFTON, Ga. – The Life U women's soccer team put on a historic performance Saturday afternoon and collected a 17-0 win over the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The win marked the highest number of goals scored in a game in Life U women's soccer history.
Sacha Millward and Odalis Tapia led the way for Life U with both earning a hat trick and Tapia adding two assists and Millward tabbing one.
The onslaught started after Jeanne Brigand opened the scoring field in the 7' minute. Shortly after, Tapia added one to the board then two by Millward to give Life U a 4-0 lead 16 minutes into the game.
Phoenix Parks put the ball in the back of the net in the 18' followed by Victoria Valles and Faith Martin adding to the list.
Before the Running Eagles went into halftime Dana Billington went on a mission putting back to back goals on the board with Valles Closing out the half giving Life U a 10-0 run going into the break only leaving ABAC with one shot attempt in the first half.
Coming out of the break Armani Flewellen immediately tallied a goal. The scoring slowed for 18 minutes until the Running Eagles were followed inside the box giving Alessia Buompane the penalty kick to give Life U a 12-0 lead.
Four minutes later, Life U was followed again in the box giving this time Lavinia Horning the penalty kick making the lead 13-0.
Life U was not ready to slow down yet with Amy Hunt putting one past the ABAC goalie making the Running Eagle the eleventh player to score that afternoon. Tapia was able to add two more goals and Millward added one more too giving Life U the 17-0 win.
Up next, the Running Eagles will host Point in a SSAC match up on Lupo Family Field at 5 p.m.
