MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's soccer team rebounded from an early deficit and rolled to a 4-1 win over Faulkner in SSAC play on Saturday afternoon.
It was a cloudy fall afternoon in Marietta and the offense for Life U unlocked in the middle of the second half and never stopped as four different Running Eagles found goals.
The game was off to an inauspicious start, as Faulkner was able to break the scoreless tie with a goal in the 30' minute.
Life U was undeterred, however, coming out the break Wilfred Tchoupa Kamdem found Finn Seijsener in open space and Seijsener capitalized on the chance for the equalizer in the 63' minute.
Then, riding a wave of momentum, the Running Eagles took the lead from a Thomas Rodella goal in the 79' minute.Â
The Running Eagles were not done, this time on an assist from Manuel Carrillo, who found Tchoupa Kamdem in open space bringing the lead to 3-1.Â
15 minutes left in the game, the Running Eagles continued their offensive onslaught, this time courtesy of another Tchoupa Kamdem cross to this time Jonas Clein giving Life U the 4-1 win.
"After a slow first half the boys came alive in the second half," Assistant Coach Matheus Brandao said. "We switched our formation and saw also an attitude change from our guys. It was wonderful to see them show some character and determination to pull out the result."
Up next, the Running Eagles head back on the road, traveling to Middle Georgia Wednesday Oct 2 at 8 p.m.
