MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's soccer team continued its undefeated start to the season with another dominant 19-0 victory over Blue Mountain Christian (MS) in Southern States Athletic Conference play.
The Running Eagles struck quickly, with Marey Helgadottir opening the scoring in the fourth minute. Kayla McMillian followed with two goals inside the first 15 minutes, while Helen Gutierrez and Sara Diaz also adding strikes to make it 5-0 before the 17th minute. Sacha Millward took over soon after, converting a penalty kick and completing a first-half hat trick in less than 13 minutes of action. Embla Jonsdottir, Sienna Strapp, and Ava Brundidge also tallied scores in the opening half, with Brundidge scoring twice in the final two minutes to push Life U ahead 14-0 at the break.
The second half saw more contributions from across the lineup as the Running Eagles continued to rotate players and control possession. Jonsdottir netted her second goal just four minutes into the half, followed by an own goal to extend the margin. Abigail Herron finished a setup from Ella Nuzum in the 57th minute, before Ami Lewis converted a penalty in the 65th. Caroline White capped the night with a solo effort in the 89th minute to close the scoring.
In total, 10 different Running Eagles recorded a goal, while six different players handed out assists. Life U outshot Blue Mountain 64-0, including 34 shots on target, while controlling a 13-0 margin in corner kicks. Goalkeepers Elora Niederpruem, Justine Candel, and freshman Laila Wade combined for the clean sheet without facing a shot.
