MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's soccer team turned in another commanding performance Sunday afternoon, defeating Brewton-Parker Christian University 5–0 at Lupo Family Field to remain unbeaten in SSAC play.
The Running Eagles wasted no time setting the tone, breaking through in the 6th minute when Helen Gutierrez finished a throw-in from Lilja Bjorg Olafsdottir to make it 1–0. Olafsdottir then doubled the advantage in the 17th minute, calmly converting a penalty kick to push the lead to two.
Life U continued to apply pressure as Phoenix Parks scored back-to-back goals in the 21st and 24th minutes. The first came on a setup from Sara Diaz, while the second was assisted by both Gutierrez and Olafsdottir, giving the Running Eagles a 4–0 cushion at halftime.
The hosts added one more in the second half as Sienna Strapp found the back of the net in the 60th minute to round out the scoring. On the other end, Life U's back line and goalkeeper trio of Elora Niederpruem, Justine Candel, and Laila Wade combined for a clean sheet without allowing a shot on goal.
With the win, Life U improves to 13–0 overall and 7–0 in SSAC play, while Brewton-Parker falls to 3–9 (1–6 SSAC).
