MOBILE, Ala. — The Life University men's soccer team got back in the win column Saturday afternoon with an SSAC win over Mobile. The Running Eagles and Rams were tied late in the contest, but a second goal from Andrei Apostu proved to be the difference.

Life U opened the first 15 minutes with dominant control, racking up four shots. However, despite dominating the early minutes, it was the Rams that struck first. On the first shot of the game for the home side, they found the back of the net to take a lead.

The lead lasted for just five minutes as Andrei Apostu quickly leveled the contest. Despite being brought down in the box, Enrico Burigotto continued to fight, tapping the ball to Manuel Carrillo, who chipped the ball to Apostu for the equalizer. The Romanian was unmarked in the box and headed home an easy goal.

Despite leading in shots 10-3 at half and allowing just one shot on goal, the score line remained 1-1 after the first 45. The first half was extremely physical with 19 fouls being whistled.

The action continued to be fierce in the second half as both teams looked to take the lead. Life U continued to have looks, forcing the Rams keeper to stand tall.

The score line remained 1-1 well into the late minutes of the contest as it appeared a draw may be in the future. Pressing for a late winner in the 83rd minute, Kaito Nakayama swung a ball into the 18 with multiple Running Eagles waiting. The ball bounced around the box, landing at the feet of Apostu, who volleyed home the game winner into the bottom-left corner.

Life U dominated the remaining minutes and closed out the game with a big 2-1 win on the road.

"Hard fought battle in very difficult circumstances," said Head Coach Alex Pama. "We are very proud that within 36 hours we can go deep in two tough away matches. We are back on track. One more game left in the regular season before the conference tournament."
