MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's wrestling team turned in a dominant and wide-ranging performance at the Lucha Open this weekend, piling up finalists across multiple brackets, producing two individual champions, and sending a large portion of the roster into the medal rounds. The Running Eagles showcased depth throughout both the Gold and Silver divisions, highlighted by two all-Life finals and several high-powered offensive runs.

Leading the way in the Gold Division was Rocky Raby, who stormed through the 165-lb bracket to claim Life U's first tournament title of the day. Raby opened with a tech fall, added a major decision in the quarters, edged out a 4–1 win in the semifinals, and sealed the championship in emphatic fashion with a 38-second fall in the finals.

Life University also produced two all-Life finals, resulting in shared titles at both 174 lbs and 184 lbs.
At 174, Reese Jones and Konlin Weaver each plowed through their sides of the bracket, combining for eight wins with majors, tech falls, and nail-biting decisions. Jones posted a semifinal major over Campbell's Ryan Bolletino, while Weaver advanced via tech fall, tiebreaker decision, and a tight 9–8 quarterfinal. The teammates met in the final, where they closed the bracket with a double forfeit to secure matching first-place finishes.

At 184 lbs, Kendall Norfleet and Tre Morrisette produced another all-Life championship pairing. Norfleet recorded two majors and a key 8–5 quarterfinal win, while Morrisette tore through the top half with a tech fall, a major, and back-to-back decisions. Like the 174 bracket, they wrapped the day with a double-forfeit first-place match, resulting in Life U sweeping the top two spots.

The Running Eagles added significant depth in the upper weights, where Gio Jackson finished second at 197 lbs, advancing to the finals behind a fall and two strong decision victories. Jackson dropped a sudden-victory thriller in the championship bout, falling 7–4 in overtime.
Life placed three wrestlers in the top seven at 197, as Efren Arizmendez surged to a 5th-place finish with two falls and an injury-default win, while Anthony Lowe placed 7th, highlighted by a fall and a 14–4 major decision in consolation action.

At 157 lbs, the Running Eagles placed two inside the top three.
Jaden New finished runner-up, ripping off a tech fall, a major, and a first-period fall to storm into the finals before dropping a tight 4–3 decision.
Victor Jacinto claimed 3rd, going 4–1 with a major, multiple decisions, and a 10–1 major in the medal match.

At 133 lbs, Isaiah Rubio reached the semifinals and went on to secure a 4th-place finish, earning back-to-back decision wins early in the bracket.

Life also added production from Jacob Ruiz (149), who notched two tech falls on his way to five team points before exiting in the consolation rounds, and Mikey Doerr (125), who picked up a tech fall and advanced into the quarters.

In the Silver Division, Zion Smith delivered one of the tournament's most dominant performances, winning the 174-lb title behind a barrage of bonus-point victories. Smith recorded four tech falls, a 13–3 major, and capped his day with an 18–12 decision in the finals to finish a perfect 5–0.

At 133 Silver, Justin Ruiz battled his way to a 3rd-place finish, producing a major decision, a tech fall, and multiple narrow decision wins before earning a no-contest victory in the placement round.
