MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's basketball team dominated in its final counting contest at home against the Pioneers of Spartanburg Methodist College winning 96-44.

The Running Eagles dominated the game from the tip off, opening with a five to one run behind a 3-point jumper from Emily Perez and layup from Kenya Robinson. It was the stifling defense played by Life U that wheeled them to a commanding 26-9 lead at the end of the first period.

During the second period it was more of the same as the lead only grew bigger for the Running Eagles. They started the period on an 11-2 run highlighted by layups from Robinson and sophomore Aniyah Offutt. Again, Life U was dominating on the defensive end, forcing the Pioneers to six more turnovers while also relying on its bench unit for scoring (13 bench points).

The Running Eagles took a 54-22 lead into the half time break. Robinson led the scoring attack with 16, while also adding seven rebounds. Offutt was stuffing the box score with eight points, five assists, and three steals at the break.

Out of the half time break, Life U started the second half with a 9-2 run to extend the lead to 63-24. There was no looking back for the Running Eagles as they shot 64% from the field and 67% from three-point range during the third period. Fortunately for the Pioneers, they held the Running Eagles to their lowest scoring quarter for the game as they where still outscored 20-13 in the period, with Life U taking a 74-35 lead into the final period.

In the final period, Life U almost shot lights out, shooting 73% from the floor and once again forcing eight more turnovers. The Running Eagles had four players crack double-digit points led by a season-high 26 points from Robinson, who also added 13 rebounds. Offutt also had a double-double with 12 points, 10 assists, while also leading the team with four steals. Life U came out victorious 96-44 after ending the game on a 20-3.
