Running Eagles Fall in Straight Sets to Open AAC Play

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life University men's volleyball team battled hard but ultimately fell 3-0 against Webber International (FL) on Friday evening. Despite competitive play and late-set rallies, the Running Eagles were unable to extend the match, with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-18.

Life U came out strong in the first set, keeping pace with Webber in a tightly contested battle featuring 12 ties and four lead changes. Kills from Vincent Eisinga and Jeremy Ferreira kept the Running Eagles in striking distance, but Webber capitalized on key plays down the stretch to take the set 25-23.

The second set mirrored the first, as Life U took an early lead behind strong play from Ferreira and Aiden Janowski, who registered a perfect hitting percentage on the night. The Running Eagles fought off multiple Webber runs, but a late surge from the Warriors allowed them to once again edge out a 25-23 victory.

In the third set, Webber's defense stepped up, limiting Life U's attack while building an early lead. A mid-set run widened the gap, and despite efforts from Charles Ewer and Jakub Kantorowicz at the net, the Running Eagles couldn't recover, falling 25-18 as Webber secured the sweep.

TURNING POINT:

Life U was in position to take the first two sets but couldn't close out the late points, allowing Webber to seize control and ride their momentum to a straight-sets win.
