MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life University men's basketball team put on a dominant performance at home, defeating Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College 111-70 on Saturday afternoon. The Running Eagles used a second-half explosion to pull away, securing their 21st win of the season.
The first half saw a competitive start, with Abraham Baldwin jumping out to an early 12-point lead just over three minutes into the game. However, Life U quickly found their rhythm, responding with efficient shooting and defensive stops to take a 46-39 advantage into halftime. Chaze Harris led the way with 14 first-half points, while Tyreke Johnson contributed nine.
Coming out of the break, the Running Eagles caught fire, putting up 65 points in the second half. Tyreke Johnson was electric from beyond the arc, finishing with 24 points, including five three-pointers. Chaze Harris filled the stat sheet with 23 points, eight assists, and seven steals, while Dara Olonade dominated inside with 14 points and three blocks.
Life U's defense was relentless, forcing 25 turnovers and scoring 39 points off Abraham Baldwin's mistakes. The Running Eagles also excelled from long range, hitting 14 three-pointers at a 43.8% clip.
The bench played a key role, contributing 27 points, with Deandre Cowan and Matija Gledic combining for 24. Abraham Baldwin's T.J. Smith led his team with 19 points, but they struggled to keep pace with Life's offensive efficiency.
Prior to the contest, Tyreke Johnson, Dara Olonade, Elias Ramirez, and Will Freeman were recognized for this year's Senior Day.
