GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Life University women's track and field team finished second at the 2025 SSAC Indoor Championships. The Running Eagles turned in 200 points with eight Conference Championships and seven runners-up.
Emeline Delaville won the women's 800m, running a 2:19.92 and finishing nearly seven second ahead of second place. Her win marked the first of many Conference Champions for the Running Eagles. Delaville went on to win the 1000m, setting a new conference record (2.53.55). Teammate
Kyja Williams placed second in the event with a time of 3:16.35.
In the women's weight toss,
Katelyn Mendoza launched a 13.84m toss to claim first place in the event. Her distance was nearly a meter and a half further than second place. She also claimed second place in the women's shot put with a toss of 11.52m.
Life U swept the podium in the women's 200m, with
Briana Campbell claiming the conference title. Her time of 24.05 placed her nearly a second and a half ahead of teammate
Leyla Richardson who finished second (25.31).
Cameron Kelperis rounded out the top three with a third place finish in the event (25.47).
Campbell claimed the women's 60m hurdles record on Saturday, nearly breaking her NAIA record with a 8.19 time. She did not stop there, as she took home her third conference title, this time winning the 60m dash (7.37). Kelperis finished in third place with a 7.68.
Kelperis went on to claim the conference title in the women's pole vault (3.85m) and set the new conference record while teammate
Megan Judge placed second (3.45m).
In the women's 600m, Life U claimed the top two spots as
Najah Gibson took home the conference title, running a 1:34.27.
Dagbjort Magnusdottir finished second in the event (1:37.26). Gibson also placed second in women's 400m dash with a time of 58.56 earlier in the meet.
The Running Eagles team of
Laisha Hernandez, Delaville, Campbell and Gibson claimed the 4x400m relay, turning in a 3:52.92. The squad finished nearly ten seconds ahead of second place.
In the women's 4x800m relay, the team of
Hannah Burner,
Sky Jones, Carmen Crawford and Delaville placed second, running a 10:36.27 and finishing just .01 seconds behind first place.
