OCALA, Fla. - The Life University men's and women's swim team competed at the Sun Conference Championships this past week. The three-day meet, which began on Thursday morning, was highlighted by a plethora of school records falling as well as Bence Meresz placing second in the men's 100 yard breaststroke with an NAIA A-Standard time of 53.97. In addition to the records and marks, a fifth place finish overall for the men's program is the best conference meet placement in program history. 

Meresz's national qualifier time marked the first of two school records he broke at the meet, with the second being his time during the men's 200 yard medley, where he swam a 24.74 in the 50 yard breaststroke portion. 

Teammate Bence Dort also got in on the record breaking action during the 200 yard medley, leading off with a 23.49 in the 50 yard backstroke portion of the event. He also earned a fourth place finish in the men's 200 yard backstroke (1:49.40).

In the women's 100 yard backstroke, Nikita Snoeren placed sixth with a time of 58.56.

Thomas Williams also broke a school record, swimming a 1:41.71 in the men's 200 free and placing seventh at the meet. 

Kendall Ashburn posted a top eight finish in the women's 200 yard fly, swimming a 2:13.80.

Turning in a top eight performance, Mate Dort placed seventh in the men's 1650 free (16:26.36).

Four different relay records also fell during the three-day meet, with the first coming in the men's 200 yard medley relay. Rasmus Petersen joined Dort, Meresz and Williams to post a time of 1:30.94, narrowly missing the podium by just .78 seconds. The same group shattered the men's 200 yard free relay record later on, swimming a combined 1:24.07. Staying together as a unit, the next record to fall came in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:22.30. 

With one final relay record falling, Pablo Serra joined Meresz, Petersen and Williams to post a 3:05.77 in the men's 400 yard free relay.
