Men's and Women's Swim Fall in Dual Against SCAD

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Life University men's and women's swim program fell to the Bees of SCAD on Friday afternoon in dual action. The women's program did pick up a victory over Brenau, 153-98.

Kyleigh Shonk, Petra Beky, Carla Rodriguez Jara and Terangimarie Moanaroa led off the meet with a third place finish in the women's 200 yard medley relay (1:51.12). Carl Bonnemark, Max Oppermann, Rasmus Petersen and Leo Guleryuz followed with a third place finish in the men's 200 yard medley relay (1:35.14).

Raffaele Urtiola Rojas picked up a second-place finish in the men's 1650 yard free with a time of 16:39.20. The freshman went on to win the 500 yard free with a time of 4:44.96.

Arthur Silva picked up the first individual win of the day on the men's side, claiming the 200 yard free in 1:47.90. Teammate Matthew Mahony placed second with a time of 1:55.59.

Petra Beky earned the first individual win on the women's side with a dominant performance in the 100 yard breaststroke. Her time of 1:08.36 was over two seconds faster than second place. The freshman also placed second in the 50 yard breaststroke (31.67). She also picked up a third place finish near the end of the meet, swimming a 2:18.25 in the women's 200 yard IM.

Xavier Trovesi nearly won the men's 100 yard breaststroke, placing second (58.80). Oppermann placed third with a time of 1:00.40. Trovesi also went on to win the men's 200 yard IM (2:00.16).

Leo Guleryuz earned third place in the men's  50 yard free, turning in a time of 21.31.

In the women's 50 yard backstroke, Nikita Snoeren earned third place (28.27).

Carl Bonnemark nearly won the men's 50 yard backstroke, placing just .29 seconds behind first place (23.99).

Elisa Gross earned a third-place finish in the women's 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.47. On the men's side, Rasmus Petersen also placed third with a time of 53.84.

Guleryuz, Silva, Urtiola Rojas and Trovesi closed out the meet with a third-place finish in the men's 400 yard relay (3:12.03).
