Women's Flag Blanks Point in Home Win

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life University women's flag football team put on a dominant display Thursday evening, shutting out Point University 26-0 at home. After a scoreless first quarter, the Running Eagles took full control and never looked back, lighting up the scoreboard with a strong second-half performance.

The Life U defense set the tone early, forcing multiple turnovers and keeping Point from finding any rhythm. The first breakthrough came late in the second quarter when Altierra Gooch powered through for a 10-yard rushing touchdown to give the Running Eagles a 6-0 lead.

The Running Eagles doubled their lead in the third quarter, with Cheyenne Brooks connecting with Gooch for a 4-yard passing touchdown. Brooks then took matters into her own hands, scrambling for a 17-yard rushing touchdown before converting a pass for the extra point, pushing Life U lead to 20-0.

With the defense shutting down Point for the remainder of the game, the offense add another touchdown in the final quarter.  Ava Falite recorded the final pass and score of the ballgame connecting for a 21-yard passing touchdown with just 12 seconds remaining, sealing the dominant 26-0 win.
