MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life University women's lacrosse team blew past the Bobcats of St. Thomas on Tuesday night behind a ten-goal performance from Hannah Leon. The offense was electric in the contest, posting 15 goals in the first half.
Hannah Leon got the scoring started with a pair of goals in the opening minutes of the contest. Both offenses traded goals midway through the opening period until Life U finally began to pull away. Leon's third of the contest marked the beginning of an eight goal run that spanned all the way into the second period. Lexi Santiago, Roxie Beasley, Kathryn Moody and Leon all scored during the run with Leon leading all scorers with six in the contest.
The Bobcats finally broke the run with 10:13 left in the second period, trailing 11-3. The remainder of the period belong to the Running Eagles with Leon adding her seventh and Santiago completing her hat trick. The home squad carried a 15-3 lead into half time.
It was a slow start to the second half for Life U as the Bobcats scored the first pair in the third. Narrowly holding onto the running-clock lead, goals from Santiago and Leon moved the lead back to 12 goals as the Running Eagles boasted a 17-5 score line heading into the final period.
Leon added her tenth and final of the contest in the fourth period as Life U cruised to a 22-6 win.
