20 Student-Athletes Named NWCA Scholar Athlete; Team’s Highest Record

MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Life University Women's Wrestling earned the top spot in the 2025 NAIA Women's Team Scholar All-America rankings, as announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) yesterday. The Running Eagles led the nation with an impressive team GPA of 3.8.

The NWCA recognizes exceptional student-athletes that have excelled both on the mat and in the classroom. To be eligible student-athletes must reach one of the following criteria:

  • Top 8 finishers in the NAIA individual national championship tournament, and 3.0 Cumulative GPA.
  • National qualifier as determined by the NAIA and a 3.25 Cumulative GPA.
  • Conference tournament participant and a 3.5 Cumulative GPA.
  • Wrestled in at least 5 competitions as listed in TrackWrestling.

The Running Eagles topped a competitive field, surpassing Hastings College (3.652), Doane University (3.633), Indiana Tech (3.590), and Dickinson State University (3.583).

NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer praised the Life University program, stating,

"Coach Flavin and her team exemplify the true spirit of Scholar All-Americans by excelling both on the mat and in the classroom. Their dedication to academic success while competing at the highest level of NAIA wrestling is remarkable, and we congratulate them on earning this well-deserved honor."

Head Coach Ashley Flavin continues to lead a culture of excellence, discipline, and integrity within the Life U program. This honor reflects the collective effort of the student-athletes, coaching staff, and academic support team at Life University.
