INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Life University women's rugby team opened their 7s National Championship weekend on Friday with a pair of wins over Princeton and Harvard.

The action-packed weekend is part of the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) Championships, hosted at Kuntz Memorial Stadium in partnership with Riverside Sports Properties. The exciting tournament is home to some of the nation's top talent in both 15s and 7s competitions.

The Running Eagles opened the day with a win over Princeton as Azhinaye Barner scored two tries while Christina Opeti scored the final try to further extend the lead. Anabella Vogel served kicking duties all weekend, hitting all three conversions in the first match.

Next, the Running Eagles took a break from the action before earning a commanding win over Harvard later in the afternoon.

The attack was again spearheaded by Barner who scored two tries, while Alle English and Hattie Greenwood each scored as the Running Eagles convincingly beat Harvard 26-14.

The Running Eagles are now set to compete against Long Island University tomorrow morning in the quarterfinals at 10:28 am.
